The Treasure Hunter mission in MW3 Zombies mode is a Tier 1 objective of the first act in this game mode’s narrative. Just like DMZ, the Modern Warfare Zombies mode takes players to missions in an open-world map, but you’ll face zombies here instead. Tier 1’s second mission is the Treasure Hunter in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, and it tasks players with opening 25 loot caches. This sounds simple to begin with, but there are tricks to finish this assignment much faster.

What Are The Objectives of The Treasure Hunter Mission in MW3 Zombies?

There are two strategies to complete this mission:

  1. 1. Loot the buildings

The first way to complete this Zombies assignment is to just go around and loot random buildings. Now, this might be a bug, but opening closets and small toolboxes sometimes won’t count as loot boxes, and you won’t easily find crates in some map areas. So it’s better to bring a vehicle, roam around, and look for medium-sized chests.

  2. 2. Go to strongholds

The second strategy for completing the Treasure Hunter Mission faster in MW3 Zombies mode is to loot the strongholds. Just like the DMZ mode, there are strongholds inside the Urzikestan map that you can find on your map. These areas are infested, and you’ll have to shoot the nest inside them to clear it out. Once cleared, you’ll be able to loot some boxes with valuable rewards.

You can also run a weapon’s stash contract and then loot the location that is marked on your map. These contracts show you the site of an enemy weapon stash on your map, just like it did in the DMZ mode. However, the area where these weapon stashes are usually located is filled with many crates and loot boxes that can help you finish your objective.

Remember that you must open all 25 loot boxes yourself for the Treasure Hunter MW3 Zombies mode mission to be complete. If your teammates open any chests and crates along the way, it won’t count as yours and will not affect the mission’s progression. The same goes for nearly all the other MW3 Zombies missions.

To finish the Treasure Hunter mission in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, you won’t need to exfil or do any contracts at all. Completing this tier 1 objective will reward you with 1500 XP and the Instant Insanity weapon sticker you can use in the gunsmith’s customization menu.
