After leaving Trosky, you can visit the large city of Kuttenberg. In addition to progressing the main story, you can accept various side missions in this area. One of the quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is Warding Off Evil. Your goal is to steal three items from civilian houses and use them to create a talisman. The mission is fairly short, but you need to be cautious, as you must sneak inside to collect these protective items.

While exploring Kuttenberg, you may encounter Johann Parler at The Emperor Charles Tavern. He is working on the Church of Saint Barbara and wants to add a talisman to protect the building. However, he intends to make the talisman using three protective items owned by burghers. Here’s how you can obtain them all in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s Warding off Evil quest:

Nail

The first talisman is a nail located on the rafter of a house. Grabbing this item isn’t difficult, but you need to be cautious, as there are many people around. I recommend visiting this area at night when there are fewer people. Once you reach the objective marker, enter the small alleyway and go up the stairs to your left. Enter the room, then climb up the ladder on your right. Youโ€™ll find the nail on the table for the Warding Off Evil quest.

Coin

The second talisman is a coin located inside Hangmanโ€™s Halter Tavern. This one is much easier to obtain since you don’t need to sneak around. After entering the building, go through the door to the left of the stairs. Head down the stairs and turn right. You’ll find a wall you can interact with. After pulling out some loose bricks, you can retrieve the coin for the Warding Off Evil quest.

Horseshoe

The third talisman is a bit harder to obtain since you need to be wary of a patrolling guard, even at night. After entering the alley, lockpick the first door on your left. Fortunately, the lock is considered easy, so players with a low Thievery level can still unlock it. Once inside, look to your left to find the horseshoe hanging on the door frame.

Once you have all three talismans, find a forge to craft the axe. Completing the Warding Off Evil quest will reward you with 150 Groschen.
