While many of us have been waiting for the epic conclusion of this 10-year-old story, some others just want one thing: to improve their arsenal. Destiny 2: The Final Shape features many new legendary and exotic weapons for all Guardians to obtain. A few of them are locked behind convoluted steps and many missions. However, there are others that just require a quick adventure. One of those is the Still Hunt exotic sniper rifle, which you can get by following a short questline in Destiny 2.

To get the Still Hunt sniper rifle in Destiny 2, you must finish the ‘Wild Card’ quest. While it is a short one, you need to complete The Final Shape‘s campaign first. We have a guide with all the steps of the main story if you need some help with it. Once you finish the first seven missions up to Iconoclasm, follow these steps:

  1. Head to the Lost City.
  2. Start the ‘Destined Heroes’ quest and finish ‘Queens Part 1.’
  3. Speak with Cayde-6 to start the ‘Wild Card’ quest.

Contrary to other missions in this expansion, Wild Card is quite short and linear, so there’s no need to bring other people unless you want to breeze through it.

As mentioned, the quest is quite straightforward, and finding each objective is quite easy. The story focuses more on The Crow and Cayde-6, so you’ll just be around to run errands and kick butt. To begin the quest, head to The Landing and interact with the banner to begin the missing.

The first few steps are easy, and you’ll only go from point A to point B until you get the task to gather Dark Ether. You can do this by defeating the enemies that rush toward you. After defeating all of them.

After that, you must follow the trail to the cave and face the Devourer of Tainted Light. It hits hard up close, so we recommend getting to high ground and shooting from there. Also, throughout the fight, it’ll hide behind shields and wizards. Enter the shields and shoot the enemies, thus forcing the Devourer to leave the shields. Repeat this three times, and you’ll defeat it.

Enemies will start appearing all over the map, and you will need to destroy all the Blights that appear. To do so, defeat every enemy around them, and the Blights will disappear one by one. You’ll face most of the enemies you encountered during the campaign, so the mechanics are exactly the same.

The next step will have you go through a cave until you reach the location where you’ll do a stakeout. However, due to Cayde-6 being impatient, you’ll start fighting another boss. The Hoarder of Tainted Light will shoot from afar and send the occasional drones your way. When it puts its shields up, start shooting the small drones until its shields are down. It’s a pretty easy fight, but you can’t leave the small area, so be mindful of that.

For the final objective, head to the location marked on your map and enter the lair of Lii’Liks, Harvester of the Witness. The fight has three phases marked by the three segments of the boss’ health bar. The gimmick is to collect Dark Ether and put it inside the bin at the end of each phase. The boss hits hard from afar but takes a lot of damage from all your skills. I used my grenades and heavy weapon for the first phase, my super for the second, and transcended in the last one.

Once you beat the boss, return to camp, see Cayde-6 pass the baton to Crow, and return to the Lost City to obtain the Still Hunt sniper rifle in Destiny 2.

Overall, this quest is pretty engaging, and it is one that fans of Crow and Cayde-6 will enjoy. Furthermore, the Still Hunt weapon allows any class to get the Golden Gun super Hunters have, so it is worth equipping for specific fights.
