While exploring Kuttenberg, you can encounter a winemaker named Casper Rudolf. Unfortunately, his wine is absolutely horrendous, and he asks for Henry’s help to uncover the secret behind the monastery’s wine. To complete the In Vino Veritas side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you need to retrieve a book about wine and impress a tavern owner named Havel. That’s not all, though, as you will also need to sneak into a restricted area and steal some items.

Although it’s optional, I highly recommend retrieving the wine book from Adleta. She’s located on the eastern side of Kuttenberg. You can meet her using two methods in the wine quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. First, you can pass a speech skill check by speaking with Hugo at the entrance. Secondly, you can climb up the guard tower and make your way to the garden. Don’t worry—this isn’t a restricted area, but you still need to convince Adleta to give you the book.
If you have high Scholarship skill, you can recommend a book to Adleta. She will willingly part with the book if you pass the skill check. Unfortunately, bribing her with money won’t work. Another way to obtain the book is by giving her five marigolds. If you don’t have any, you can pick some from the nearby garden. Once you have Sir Bushek’s Vintner’s Wisdom, make sure to read it thoroughly.

Your next objective in the In Vino Veritas side quest is to impress Havel. First, equip good-looking gear to increase your Charisma. I recommend having around 20 points so he’ll talk to you. After that, you need to convince him that you are experienced with wine. If you have high Drinking skill, you will have an easier time making a good impression.
Here are the answers you can select to convince Havel in the wine quest:
- Germany
- That’s very kind of you
- Steinberger
- It’s missing ginger
- They chose the food well
Technically, you should be able to impress Havel even if you fail the skill checks. Just remember to select the dialogues listed above. If you can’t get Havel to talk, then you will need to steal the Innkeeper Havel’s Ledgers from a chest in his office. Afterward, you can report your findings to Casper.
How To Find Monastery’s Secret

The next objective in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 wine quest is to enter the vineyard north of the city. While you can sneak into the area, I recommend simply getting hired at the vineyard, as this will make stealing much easier. You’ll also receive the Under the Straw Hat task, which you are free to ignore or complete.
To get the monastery’s secret, you need to enter the main building to your right. Then, walk past the kitchen and lockpick the locked door to your left. Inside, you will find a chest containing Sulfur Wicks.
You also have an optional objective where you need to steal five seedlings. You can enter this area through the main building, but you can also go back outside and lockpick another door to your left.
The lockpick is marked as hard, so unless you have a high Thievery skill, you won’t be able to unlock it. On the other hand, sneaking through the main building requires you to sneak past some guards. Once you have the items, report to Casper. Completing the wine quest will reward you with 425 Groschen.
