Traveling hot deserts, huge dungeons, and cold locations covered with snow, Link must be prepared for any weather conditions. And food will help you stay invigorated in any weather conditions. Using some ingredients collected in the Hyrule world, you can prepare delicious meals to restore health, resist thirst, or increase your strength. Well, if you are in a cold biome in Tears of the Kingdom, you can cook Cold Resistance food, and today, we will help you with this.

Cooking Cold Resistance Food in Tears of the Kingdom

Luckily for novice Tears of the Kingdom players, Cold Resistance food doesn’t take too long to cook. After all, you only need one ingredient and a cooking pot. Walk around the expanses of the game world, and you will quickly find several bushes of Spicy Peppers. Collect ingredients by pressing A on your controller and head to the nearest cooking pot.

You will find cooking pots in random places throughout the game world, but one of the first is in the southern part of Great Sky Island. Go to the western entrance to Pit Cave, after which you will immediately find a cooking pot on your right. In addition, this area is full of Spicy Peppers, which is good news if you want to cook a lot of food.

It is also important to note that the cooking process in this game is quite peculiar. So here’s what you should do to cook Cold Resistance food in Tears of the Kingdom:

  • Collect Spicy Peppers. Later, you can use other ingredients with the Spicy property to make more effective Cold Resistance food.
  • Open Link’s inventory and click on Spicy Peppers.
  • Choose the Hold option and take 1 to 5 Spicy Peppers in your hand.
  • Go to the cooking pot and press A to place the ingredients.
  • Wait a few seconds, and you will receive Spicy Sauteed Peppers.

It is worth noting an essential feature of the cooking process. A meal will have different effects depending on how many Spicy Peppers you put in the pot. So if you put 1 Spicy Pepper in the cooking pot, you will get Cold Resistance for 2 minutes and 30 seconds and can restore 1 HP heart. At the same time, placing 5 Spicy Peppers will give you 12 minutes and 30 seconds of Cold Resistance and restore five HP hearts.

Although the second option seems more effective, it’s only partly true. In the initial game, Link only has three hearts, and cooking more efficient meals is not very profitable. As for the Cold Resistance effect, you should choose a meal depending on how long you want to stay in a cold biome.

Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
