Nightingale is more than a visual showcase for diverse biomes and dangerous creatures. You can customize your character fairly well in the game, but the bare necessities of simple clothes also help advance early quests. Knowing how to craft and use the Sewing Bench in Nightingale is thus a helpful asset. Here’s what you need and what benefits it yields!
How To Unlock the Sewing Bench
You’ll first need to find your realm’s Essence Trader to unlock the Sewing Bench recipe before you can craft it. This recipe costs 55 Essence Dust, which you can easily farm either through handy tricks or by hunting creatures and harvesting materials. Buying this recipe allows you to build this and other items forever, subsequently unlocking clothes that boost your Gear Score!
How To Craft the Sewing Bench
Once you’ve unlocked the recipe, the crafting process is done through the following steps:
- Open your Build menu (‘B’ key) and select ‘Crafting: Basics & Repair.’
- Select ‘Simple Sewing Bench’ and hit ‘Place’ to find a spot in the overworld. You’ll need the following:
- 10x Wood Bundle
- 15x Fibre
- 1x Bones
- Left-click when its outline is green, and exit the Build menu.
- Hit ‘E’ to use the materials in your inventory to build the bench.
With this, you will successfully craft the Simple Sewing Bench in Nightingale.
What Can You Make With the Sewing Bench in Nightingale?
The Sewing Bench initially lets you craft Simple variants of Boots, Capelets, Packs, Gloves, Headwraps, Breeches, and Shirts. We recommend making the Pack first to grant a huge upgrade to your carrying capacity.
In the early game, you’ll need a good reserve of Leather and Plant Fibre to craft the clothes at this station. Consider a basket for storage and keep your other crafting stations nearby, especially your Tanning station if you’ve been gathering hides to make Leather.
You’ll also notice in the Build menu that this will later unlock other gear like Aristocratic clothing and other modifiers. It’s worth revisiting so you can subtly upgrade your Gear Score over time. Doing this is crucial not just for completing objectives but also because these net you a myriad of stat boosts.
Do You Need the Sewing Bench?
The Sewing Bench is key to advancing the early quests, as you’ll need every Gear Score upgrade possible to get more work. It’s also a generally recommended asset at your Estate, as you’ll want to come back for later upgrades. The gear you start with is rudimentary and not exactly easy on the eyes, either.
