As you progress through the beginning tutorial steps in Nightingale, you’ll come to the more difficult tasks that require you to do some things that aren’t explained too well. One of these tasks is to unlock the Simple Mortar Station, along with some of the other Nightingale crafting stations, but we’re going to double up on the information and tell you not only how to unlock it, but also how to craft and use it. Be prepared for a little hike over to your Realm’s Essence Trader.

Unlocking the Simple Mortar Station can be done pretty quickly. However, there’s going to be a bit of travelling involved, as well as two different types of exchanges. Before we get into the exchanges, you’ll need to head out to the Essence Trader in your Realm. They can typically be found near the Site of Power. Once you’re there, you should exchange some of your inventory items for Essence Dust until you have at least 55, then speak with the Essence Trader. From there, you will purchase the Blueprint for the Simple Mortar Station for 55x Essence Dust.

How To Craft the Simple Mortar Station

Crafting the Simple Mortar Station requires you to have some other stations unlocked to craft the correct building materials.

  • Simple Mortar Station
    • 3x Lumber
    • 8x Fibre

To get the Lumber, you’ll need a Sawmill Station, and to get your hands on some Fibre, you can either use Animal Fibre, which requires the Tanning Station to craft, or any Plant Fibre you collect throughout the Fae wilds.

The Simple Mortar Station unlocks the ability to use loads of different resources to craft materials that are in powder form. You can craft coffee, flour, and even ink and pigmentation at the Simple Mortar Station. All you need to do is insert the ingredients into the station and begin crafting.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
