A challenging task of the Week 2 Quests in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is damaging an opponent with a Pod Plant. There are many ways to cut away your enemies’ HP with combat throwables, weapons, or interactable environmental objects. Pod Plants are of the latter and are capable of dealing explosive damage or DoT with toxic fumes. There’s a harmless variant of this plant as well, but it cannot be used to complete the Week 2 Quest in question.

If you’re wondering what is a Pod Plant in Fortnite, you’re not alone. These exotic florae are a new interactive mechanic introduced this season with different effects. There are three types of Pod Plants:

Pod Plant Appearance & Effect
Stink Flower
  • This plant looks very similar to a real-life pitcher plant.
  • When struck, the Stink Flower will hurl itself at the target you’re directing it toward, exploding upon impact with poison damage.
Bomb Flower
  • This flower has a bulbous appearance with small spikes sticking out of it.
  • Like the Stink Flower, striking the Bomb Flower will send it flying at an enemy, exploding upon impact.
Slurp Plant
  • This plant looks similar to the Stink Flower but is blue in color.
  • Activating this plant will replenish your Shield or HP.

The Bomb Flower and the Stink Flower are the environmental objects you’ll use to damage an enemy with a Pod Plant in Fortnite. If you see an enemy player or AI bot approaching, rush to the nearest damage-dealing Pod Plant and face the direction of your target. Strike it once with your Harvesting Tool to clear the quest.

On the other hand, if you have good aim, you can shoot one of these plants near an enemy from afar to ambush them. However, this approach will naturally be more challenging for newer or more casual players.

Spawning in the new jungle biome of Chapter 4 Season 3, Fortnite Pod Plants can appear at three named locations: Shady Stilts, Creeky Compound, and Rumble Ruins. We suggest you land in the jungle at Creeky Compound, near the island’s center. Those who start their games near the middle of the map have an easier time navigating away from the Storm. Moreover, a solid number of these exotic plants populate the area.

Suppose you have a target in sight and aim to damage them with a Pod Plant in Fortnite. However, if they are intentionally keeping their distance either from you or the plant, then completing the quest can be tricky. Fortunately, YouTuber Comrad3s has demonstrated an excellent method of downing an enemy squad member and carrying them to their fatal fate with a Pod Plant:
