Once you tire of murdering lesser vampire players for their Vermin Salves, it’s time to move on to the next big target in V Rising. The 1.0 release thankfully added the main man of any game with vampiric lore: Dracula. This is a dignified portrayal of Dracula, and you’d do well to take note of that because he’s the hardest boss in V Rising (more or less). As such, I’ve prepared some tips and ways how to defeat Dracula in V Rising.

Defeating Dracula is part of the main quest. It’s the final stage and culmination of your journey. In fact, everything you’ve been doing, such as hunting the bosses, is about tracking down and slaying Dracula, the Immortal King. Most vampire bosses in the game have borrowed their blood from Dracula, after all.

In order to find Dracula, you need to build an Eye of Twilight structure which is also part of the main quest. This structure will show you the location of Soul Shards, and Dracula’s is one of them.

Dracula, if you want to rush to him, is located in the easternmost part of the map, in the Ruins of Mortium. He has a fortress there, which also doubles as the boss arena.

Moreover, there are other requirements to fulfill before you can enter Dracula’s castle:

  • You need a Blood Key amulet. You can build it from an Artisan Table. It has the following crafting requirements.
    • Onyx Tear
    • Primal Blood Essence
    • Greater Stygian Shard

Once you have that and the Soul Shard tracker, you can head over to Dracula’s castle, as indicated on the map.

Dracula’s fight has two phases, but thankfully, he only has one health bar and won’t surprise you with a regeneration mechanic. However, he has tons of health, so consider this an endurance or attrition fight. Don’t get greedy or hasty with your attacks.

Once you get him down to around 60 percent of his health, he’ll take his top off and unleash new attack moves (seriously). That’s when the fight becomes more threatening. Here are some pointers to help you win or survive.

  • Use Pistols, Bows, or the Scythe. You want to stay away from melee range.
  • Dracula has a melee range grab move that will drain your blood; it can ruin your build.
  • Movement speed boosts are especially useful here.
  • Use Veil of Blood for consistent healing.
  • Chaos Volley is a good tool for attrition damage.
  • Don’t worry if you die; your items bag will be outside the arena.

Moreover, the arena is spacious enough for some evasive maneuvers. For some, the fight might even be easier compared to Adam the Firstborn.

V Rising is available on the PC and PlayStation platforms.
