Learning how to defeat Gibdos inย Tears of the Kingdomย is of vital importance. Otherwise, you could spend quite a lot of time and weapons in vain. And while Gibdos don’t compare to other wild encounters such as aย Battle Talus, or even a mightyย Gleeok, they do carry their own type of danger. After all, these enemies have been a trademark inย Zeldaย games, and they are synonyms for horror and sudden screams that paralyze you. Inย Tears of the Kingdom,ย they are quite unique, and you will find they are pretty tough. Continue reading to know how to beat Gibdos inย Tears of the Kingdom.

To defeat Gibdos inย Tears of the Kingdom, you will first have to locate them and bring some materials. You can find Gibdos in the Gerudo Desert. During the main story, you will find that these enemies have surrounded and even overwhelmed Gerudo Town. Avoid fighting them at all costs; they are almost invulnerable to normal melee or ranged attacks.

If you follow the Main Quest called “Riju of Gerudo Town,” you will learn that Gibdos are incredibly vulnerable to both Fire and Lightning attacks. By activating Riju’s lightning attack to generate an Electric field, you can fire elemental arrows at a Gibdo. Link and Riju will then summon a lightning strike that will obliterate the Gibdos.

Alternatively, you can also fuse any of your weapons with any Electric or Fire material. Doing this will charge your weapons with an Electric or Fire enhancement. Attacking the Gibdos with these weapons or arrows will deal a great amount of damage and will beat them in a few strikes.

The Gibdos will drop both Gibdo Bone and Gibdo Guts, which can be used as fuse materials or as ingredients toย concoct elixirs. The Gibdo Bone grants a +40 damage boost, so it is a very powerful material to fuse. Go ahead and look for Gibdos across the desert, and you will be able to farm these monster parts.

Thankfully, Gibdos no longer paralyze you, and you will be able to approach them with no setback. Just be sure to bring Electric or fire-enhanced weaponry; otherwise, defeating these enemies will be a huge headache.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.
