If you thought the Alpha Doshaguma was the strongest of the pack, wait until you meet Guardian Doshaguma in Monster Hunter Wilds. This creature’s new version brings the same deadly moves we already saw in its Alpha variant but adds a few more explosions and other elemental shenanigans that will make your hunt a living hell. However, if you’re prepared enough, you might be able to take this monster down quickly.

If you’ve already faced Doshaguma in Monster Hunter Wilds, its Guardian moveset doesn’t change that much, but we’ll go over that later. What changes, though, is its weaknesses. In terms of elemental damage, there are four elements that will be effective when fighting Guardian Doshaguma, which are the following:

  • Fire
  • Thunder
  • Ice
  • Dragon

Of these, you should already have three out of four in Low Rank. The last one will become available soon, and when you get it, always bring Dragon-infused weapons when fighting Guardian monsters. If you don’t have any weapon infused with the above elements, there’s another strategy you can use, but we’ll go over that below. Also, in terms of status elements, all of them are somewhat effective, except for Exhaust. Guardian Doshaguma is immune to that last one. So, we recommend sticking to elemental attacks.

Lastly, in terms of weak points, its forelegs are the weakest points. Despite how aggressive Doshaguma can be, breaking its legs isn’t challenging at all. Any weapon can attack these parts with ease, so focus on them at all times to cause as much damage as possible.

As we mentioned, Guardian Doshaguma shares almost the same moveset as its Alpha counterpart in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, its Guardian attacks will cause explosions and leave some energy remnants behind, which are key for the fight. When fighting this Doshaguma, follow these tips:

  1. Grab elemental slinger ammo and wait for a Guardian attack.
    • Guardian attacks are those where any monster in the Guardian category causes an explosion on the ground. After the explosion, you’ll see crystals of that energy. Alone, these crystals don’t do anything. However, if you hit them with elemental ammo, they will explode and damage the monster. You can use this to cause a lot of damage to any Guardian creature. Just remember to use ammo with the elemental that a monster is weak to. In this case, using Thunder, Fire, Ice, or Dragon is a good idea against Guardian Doshaguma.
  2. Stay on Doshaguma’s side at all times.
    • Since its forelegs are Doshaguma’s weak spots, you need to move your hunter around so they always face these parts. A few quick combos to their forelegs will cause a lot of damage and open wounds. Just break them and repeat the process until the monster is down. This fight is certainly easier for ranged users in that regard.

In truth, the fight isn’t that complicated once you know how to use the elemental crystals to your advantage. It is all a matter of finding the right moment to make the crystals explode and then move in to hit Doshaguma’s weak spots. However, this monster performs more AoE attacks, and some of its melee combos have some delay followed by explosions, so it’s always important to keep your distance before moving in to hit it. Also, its saliva will inflict you with the Defense Down status, so bring potions to counter this effect.

Guardian Doshaguma Materials

To wrap this up, here are the materials you’ll get when defeating Guardian Doshaguma. Also, some of these materials are the ones you need to craft some of the rare Low Rank armor sets and weapons, so you’ll now be able to do so, assuming you hunt this creature more than once or get super lucky with the material drops.
