Pokémon Odyssey is not an official game made by Nintendo but is instead a fan-made crossover project that combines the gameplay of Pokémon, Made in Abyss, and Etrian Odyssey. While almost every gamer has heard of or played a Pokémon game, Made in Abyss and Etrian Odyssey will likely be less known by the majority. For clarification, Made in Abyss is a manga series and anime that involves children delving into a bottomless, treacherous crater in search of relics. On the other hand, Etrian Odyssey is a dungeon crawler JRPG primarily released on the Nintendo 3DS.

Playing Pokémon Odyssey Beta v1.5 in January 2023

Pokémon Odyssey Battle Gameplay

To play Pokémon Odyssey Beta v1.5 in January 2023, Trainers will need a NUPS, a UPS patcher for .NET or Mono files. Players will also need to acquire a “clean 1636 – Pokémon Fire Red (U)(Squirrels) Rom” from online sources. Running the game will also require the emulator mGBA 0.9.2 or mGBA 0.10.0.

It is essential to bear in mind that players should browse for the utility programs required at their own risk. Moreover, Nintendo has been seen taking a stance against the preservation of its titles. Even though Pokémon Odyssey is a fan-made project, it will only be available for download and play if no legal action is taken against the game. Those new to the ROM hack scene are encouraged to visit the forums and see where trusted sources for download software can be found. A quick search on Google might bring up promising results, but there is no telling what could be real, a scam, or a virus. Antivirus software will keep one’s device in check, but wise judgment when browsing for non-official files for Pokémon Odyssey Beta v1.5 does involve some risk.

An ideal place to search for sources for a safe UPS patcher and ROMS for owned games would be The PokéCommunity Forums. It is also where a creator of the game, PacoScarso_, has posted the link to the download page where players can play Pokémon Odyssey Beta v1.5. As its name implies, the game is incomplete and likely contains bugs and incomplete content. Therefore, fans should go into this game expecting a finished product.

Pokémon Odyssey Beta v1.5 is available on PC via emulation.
