The main motive of whatever you do in GTA Online is to make money. Whether it’s to buy new apartments, agencies, cars, or weapons, they all will be used to take riskier jobs that pay more. But there are times when accumulating moolahs can feel hard, and you might need a leg up. Or maybe you just want to give out a bag of cash to your Crew or random strangers as an act of kindness. Unfortunately, we have bad news about the ability to drop and give money to other players in GTA Online.

Back in the day, you could give small bags of money to other players after completing a mission. Big heists or simple errands, it doesn’t matter which one. Afterward, you can open the “Interaction Menu” by pressing the M key or the Select button, and select “Inventory.” There you should be able to see the option that says “Cash.” If you haven’t completed any jobs though, this option would be in grey indicating that it’s not available right now.

However, since 2020, it’s no longer possible to drop and give money in GTA Online. Rockstar Games didn’t just remove the “Cash” option, but the whole “Inventory” menu as well. No one knows for sure why the developer did it but the most likely reason is to prevent cheats and exploits.

This feature is sorely missed by tons of GTA players as it makes it easy for veterans to lend a hand and kickstart newcomers. Still, there are other ways to help friendly players gain money as they play through GTA Online together.

First, if you’re playing Heist missions, make sure to give them the most cut during the planning phase. Then if they have a Business or Motorcycle Club, protect and help them complete various organization jobs. Crew members who managed to defend their bosses will get a daily cash bonus too, so keep that in mind. Sometimes, other players in public lobbies disregard public events often; try completing the objectives discreetly to claim the RP and money rewards for yourselves.

While there is no way to drop and give money in GTA Online, you can share some stuff with fellow criminals. Snacks and Ammos can be dropped through the “Interaction Menu” to help friends in need shave off some expenses. MC Enforcers and CEOs, too, can drop Body Armor for $1,000 and $1,500 respectively.

Yep, unfortunately, in GTA Online the drop or give money feature has been removed by Rockstar. It will take some time to accumulate cash if you’re playing by your lonesome. That’s why it’s better to play with powerful friends in this game. Then once you have cash to burn, it’s time to check out our Fastest GTA Online car guide and buy one from that list.
