The security of your account in Fortnite is of utmost importance. If you don’t have enough firewalls on your account, malicious people who know your account password can steal your Fortnite account very easily. This is especially annoying if you have a lot of V-Bucks invested in your account, so security is essential to protect your account from such situations. For this, it is very important to activate Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your account. Also, activating MFA will make you eligible to participate in tournaments. Here is how to enable MFA in Fortnite.

How To Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Fortnite

To keep your account secure in Fortnite, you need to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) at least. You can do this with Email confirmation, SMS code confirmation, or an Authenticator App like Google Authenticator. When you activate any of these options on your Fortnite account, you are activating Two-Factor Authentication. If you activate at least two of these options, you are enabling Multi-Factor Authentication, aka MFA. In order not to confuse you, we can explain it as follows.

All Authentication Types in Fortnite:

  • Two-Factor Authenticator App
  • Email For Two-Factor Authentication
  • SMS Code For Two-Factor Authentication

When you have activated at least two of the above authentication types, you have enabled MFA in Fortnite.

Here is How to Enable MFA in Fortnite:

  • First, launch the Epic Games Launcher.
  • Click on your avatar at the top right and select “Account” from the pop-up window.
  • This will take you to the Epic Games website. From here, click on the “Password & Security” section.
  • Scroll down to the bottom and you will see Two-Factor Authentication. Here you will see the three different types of authentication mentioned above, select the two that work best for you.
  • Once you have activated two of these authentication types, you will have activated MFA in Fortnite.
