Are you confused about how to evolve Drakloak in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? This isn’t a complicated process, thankfully enough. If you don’t have Drakloak, you can also access this strong Pokémon in two different ways. We’ll show you how to evolve Drakloak and how to get them in your party in the first place.

How to Evolve Drakloak in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Evolve Drakloak

Drakloak is a Dragon/Ghost-type Pokémon that first hit the games during the 8th Generation. It is part of the 3-stage evolution for Dreepy. In the previous generation, Drakloak proved itself to be a reliable companion in the wild and against opponent trainers. That hasn’t changed in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. So, it’s no surprise players are eager to complete the evolution line.

If you want to evolve Drakloak in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the only thing you need to do is level them up. No special items are required with Drakloak. Instead, you must reach level 60, and Drakloak will evolve into Dragapult.

Yes, this is a rather high level to reach with your Pokémon. Because of this, you will want to do all the tricks you can to level Drakloak up in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Battle with them whenever you can. Remember that Drakloak is immune to Normal and Fighting-type moves. So, you can nearly ensure a victory when you pull them out against these types of Pokémon.

They also have good resistance to Bug, Grass, Electric, Fire, and Water-type moves. Using your Drakloak against these types can help the battle grind to go by quicker, so you can evolve them faster in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Also, using them in Mass Outbreaks is helpful too.

Of course, candies can help out. However, you might wind up using a lot of EXP candies to increase Drakloak’s level. This can turn out to have more grinding than simply battling with them.

If you don’t have Drakloak yet, you can check out a few different areas in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:

  • North Province (Areas One, Two, Three)
  • South Province (Areas One, Two, Four, Five, Six)
  • West Province (Areas One, Two, Three)
  • Asado Desert
  • Casseroya Lake
  • Tagtree Thicket
  • Galseado Mountain
  • The Great Crater of Paldea
  • South Paldean Sea

If you want to find a Drakloak to evolve in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, be sure to look around the water in the areas listed above. Otherwise, you can start off with Dreepy and evolve them by reaching Level 50. Dreepy is found in much of the same areas as Drakloak in addition to other places throughout Paldea, like in East Province.

Although you do have to level Drakloak up quite a bit, the stat difference between them and Dragapult is impressive enough to make the grind worth it:

Stat Drakloak Dragapult
HP 68 88
Attack 80 120
Defense 50 75
Special Attack 60 100
Special Defense 50 75
Speed 102 142

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is available on Nintendo Switch.
