Spewpa and Vivillon in Pokémon GO
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Spewpa is a Bug-type Scatterdust Pokémon in Pokémon GO that is the second evolution form in the Scatterbug family before Vivillon. Scatterbug evolves into Spewpa after being fed 25 Candies, but a much larger number of Candies is required for the jump from Spewpa to Vivillon. With the Season of Mythical Wishes now officially live, Trainers can catch a wide variety of Vivillon forms that are not different in elemental type or Moveset, but each form has a unique appearance that differs from region to region. Likewise, the region where Spewpa or Scatterbug are caught also is connected to the wing colors and patterns that the ensuing Vivillon evolution will entail.

To evolve Spewpa into Vivillon in Pokémon GO, Trainers must procure a total of 100 Candies, an investment four times higher than Scatterbug’s evolution to Spewpa. While this might seem like a monumental task, there are several ways players can bolster their income of Scatterbug Candies.

A good practice to get more Candies for evolving Spewpa into Vivillon in Pokémon GO would be to “bank” Scatterbug Encounters. If Trainers get a guaranteed encounter with a Scatterbug, they can save it for when a live event occurs, such as a Spotlight Hour or Community Day. Oftentimes, these events will have bonuses, such as doubling the Catch Candy received for every Wild Pokémon. Accordingly, if players choose to clear their Scatterbug or Spewpa Encounter during such events, their Candy income will be doubled. The amount can be further increased by feeding the pocket monster Pinap Berries before performing a catch.

Having a Scatterbug, Spewpa, or even Vivillon as one’s Buddy Pokémon in Pokémon GO is also a great strategy for passively earning Candy for a Vivillon evolution. Keep in mind that the process will be quite slow, and Trainers will need to move through the AR realm to get the Candies. Nevertheless, if players persist, they will eventually receive all the Candies they need to perform multiple Vivillon evolutions. The farming process should take several weeks to months, and it can be sped up by taking advantage of the Encounters, Spotlight Hours, and Community Days mentioned above.

Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
