In the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC, a familiar face makes its return – Yanma, the Generation II Clear Wing Pokemon, and its Gen IV evolution, Yanmega. These Bug/Flying types can now be found in the new Kitakami area, offering trainers the chance to reunite with them. Yanma, the Gen II Bug/Flying-type, can be spotted flying around in the wild on Kitakami Road once you enter Kitakami. However, evolving Yanma into the formidable Yanmega in The Teal Mask isn’t a straightforward process. It’s not just about leveling up; there’s a specific method you must follow to evolve Yanma in Teal Mask.

To evolve Yanma into Yanmega in Pokmon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask, follow these steps:

  1. Learn Ancient Power: Yanma evolves into Yanmega by leveling up while knowing the move Ancient Power.
  2. Check Pokemon Level: Yanma can learn Ancient Power at level 33. If your Yanma is already above this level and doesn’t know Ancient Power, you can still make it learn the move. Open Yanma’s “Moves and Stats” page and press “A” to change moves. Select Ancient Power to teach your Pokemon the particular move.
  3. Level Up: After teaching Ancient Power, level up Yanma through battles or by using Exp. Candies to trigger its evolution. It can evolve into Yanmega at any level as long as it knows Ancient Power.
  4. Use Exp. Candies: You can also level up Yanma by participating in Tera Raids and using Exp. Candies. A single Exp. Candy L should be sufficient, but you can use a regular Rare Candy for certainty.
  5. Evolution Magic: Once Yanma knows Ancient Power and gains a level, it will evolve into Yanmega in Pokemon Violet and Scarlet. Sit back and watch the evolution happen.
  6. Move Customization: After evolution, you can replace Ancient Power with other moves like Bug Buzz or Air Slash for increased damage output. Ancient Power is only necessary if you want a Rock-type move.

That’s all there is to evolving Yanma into Yanmega in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask. If you still haven’t found Yanma in the latest Teal Mask DLC here is where you can find it.
