Sprinting across the Exclusion Zone can feel like a montage of mutant attacks and explosions. Even if you don’t get gunned down or step into a trap, there’s the threat of killer Emissions. Walking everywhere isn’t the end of the world, but there’s a far safer and faster option. The bad news is fast travel costs a pretty penny. Even so, if you’ve got a fistful of coupons and a burning desire to not die of radiation poisoning, there’s no better ticket to travel. Here’s how to fast travel in Stalker 2 and skip trekking through nuclear waste.
Stalker 2 Fast Travel Guide
Being a Stalker is a lonely business, and players will be used to doing everything by themselves. Even so, you’ll need help from time to time. If you want to fast travel, you’ll need a Guide. As with any expert service in the Exclusion Zone, it won’t come cheap, however. Even a short trip from Slag Heap to Zalissya costs 1,500 coupons. It’s therefore wise to save fast travel for when you need it. Here’s what you need to do:
- Travel to a settlement (Zalissya, Slag Heap, etc.)
- Find a Guide (marked on your PDA map)
- Choose the base you want to travel to
- Pay the fast travel fee to begin your journey
Few things are easy in Stalker 2, and though fast travel is convenient, there are catches. In addition to the expense, fast travel is also limited by your need to visit bases before you can travel to or from them. In short, if you’re bogged down by mutants in Red Forest or ambushed in Zaton, you’ll need to reach a base for a Guide to whisk you away. It still beats lugging a backpack full of looted guns halfway across the Zone.
