Ancient Fish is one of the few epic fish in Palia. However, even among them, it is special because it does not live in any of the waters of Killima Village or Bahari Bay. And no matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to find it until you fulfill one condition. More precisely, you need to complete Something’s in the Water achievement.
For this, you need to unleash a mystery into Kilima’s waters, which seems quite confusing. In reality, you need to complete one of the Bundles in Vault of the Waves. No matter which one you complete, you will be able to release Ancient Fish into the world.
Only after this, can players go fishing. And luckily, Ancient Fish swims all along the shore at Killima Village. Plus, this fish doesn’t seem to be picky about the time of day, so that you can catch it at any time.
Even though you know how to “unlock” and where to find Ancient Fish in Palia, you won’t be able to catch it without preparation. It’s still an Epic fish so it won’t bite on an empty hook or simple bait. In other words, you will need to stock up on Glow Worms to catch it. Luckily, they can be obtained quite easily:
- Players can purchase this bait from the Fishing Guild Store
- Players can obtain Glow Worms from Zeki’s Wondrous Machine
- Players can also raise them at Glow Worm Farm
As for the fishing rod, you will need at least a Fine Rod or Exquisite Rod to catch Ancient Fish in Palia. And when all the preparations are completed, go to the shore of Killima Village and cast the bait. It may take you many tries, but you will be able to get this Epic Fish.
That’s all you need to know about how to find and catch Ancient Fish in Palia. Catching it is not as difficult as unlocking it, but by following our tips, you will succeed:
- Complete one of the Bundles.
- Release Ancient Fish into the waters of Killima Village.
- Prepare suitable bait and fishing rod.
- Throw the bait and wait for the Epic fish to bite.
Palia is now in Open Beta and will be released on PC and the Nintendo Switch.
