Assaults expand World of Warcraft‘s already daunting world content, giving you new ways to keep busy post-Battle for Azeroth. Fyrakk Assaults are a type of weekly Assault you can discover on the Dragon Isles, for those looking to test themselves against Blizzard‘s machinations in all new ways. Whether you’re looking to beat up on Elites or fill your coffers with Wards of Fyrakk, there’s only one way forward. Here’s how to find and complete Fyrakk Assaults in World of Warcraft.

You will find an image of Kalecgos in Loamm that offers the Fyrakk’s Forces quest. This is the breadcrumb that leads to the assault area. A Fyrakk Assault appears in one of the original Dragon Isles zones and lasts for the week. You can find out where it is currently happening by looking for the dragon head icon on your map. Here are some other tips to keep in mind:

  • The Fyrakk Assault area turns red and ashy as it is invaded by Djaradin forces, Primalists, and Primal Drakes
  • There is also a tiny hub in the assault area with characters involved in the zone
  • They will offer world quests that can be completed for Fyrakk Assault rewards and reputation

The basic flow of this activity is easy to master, even compared to The War Within. Killing enemies in the area can drop Wards of Igira. Collecting five of them lets you interact with Suffusion Crucibles in the same area. These monuments summon a random set of elites when you use them. These elite enemies will drop Wards of Fyrakk.

Five Wards of Fyrakk are needed to interact with the large Suffusion Mold in the middle of the assault. This summons a named elite boss to fight. Defeating this boss is technically how to finish the Fyrakk Assault, but there are further things to do here.

Fyrakk Assaults also have a Fyrakk’s Fury meter. Interfering with his forces in the assault area will slowly fill a bar. When the bar reaches 100%, Fyrakk will slowly fly towards the assault area, burning everything in his path. This is similar to the Deathwing encounter from Cataclysm’s prepatch. He is marked on the map while he is moving toward you. Getting killed by him awards the Still Standing in the Fire Achievement.

When Fyrakk reaches the assault spot, he will bombard the area with shadowflame before flying off again. A raid boss will spawn and players must work together to defeat it. Overcoming the boss will reward you with Drake’s Shadowflame Crest Fragments, item level 405 catch-up gear that can be upgraded, and a quest item that can be turned in at the assault hub for a Drake’s Shadowflame Crest and 500 reputation with the zone’s faction.
