To unlock a Heavy Runic Attack known as the Mists of Helheim in God of War Ragnarok, players will need to find and open a Legendary Chest at the Cliffside Ruins within Vanaheim. While this chest’s location is easy to find on the in-game map, reaching the exact spot is easier said than done. First, players must head to the Boat Dock on the western half of the Cliffside Ruins. After arrival, climb up the nearby wall to reach the crumbled walkway above. From this elevated point, users must face south and have Kratos detonate Sigil Arrows to cause the chain of the next pathway to fall.

After climbing the long chain to the small ravine above, players will find a device where they must draw a rune symbol to open the waterway leading to the Cliffside Ruins Legendary Chest location in God of War Ragnarok. Next, return to the dock and row to the innermost grotto of The Veiled Passage.

After docking within The Veiled Passage, smash down the wooden barricade on the right and remove the explosive plants from the wall to grant Kratos access to the tunnel ridge above. Head through the underground passageway and fight past a handful of enemies to find a chain. Keep in mind that the area must be cleared of all hostile mobs before Kratos can climb down. At the bottom of this chain’s ledge, players will finally see the Cliffside Ruins Legendary Chest nested near the swampy water in God of War Ragnarok.

Next, to reach the lower path to the Cliffside Ruins Legendary Chest below, players have several options for detonating their Sigil Arrows. However, one of the easiest methods to get past this tricky puzzle is by increasing the detonation radius by aiming at the same spot. This procedure was demonstrated by YouTube content creator Saboteur, who made sure three Sigil Arrows were fired at a rock on the right wall to clear the path. Players must use multiple arrows on the same spot to have the explosion reach the most area. This method removes the need to aim and align each arrow carefully. Afterward, drop down and throw Kratos’s axe at the explosive pot on the left to open the Legendary Chest.

God of War: Ragnarok is available exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
