Considering that it is a herbivorous dinosaur, there is a 100% chance that you will find it on Herbivore Island. You can also find Ankylosaurus in the northern half of the island, in most cases near the foot of The Red Peak mountain.
Ankylosaurus usually move in groups, but you can still find them quite often alone. These individuals are not aggressive and will not attack you unless you do it first. Nevertheless, if you get into a fight with Ankylosaurus, be careful because the dinosaur has thick skin, which serves as good armor against almost any weapon. Ark Survival Ascended: How to Tame Ankylosaurus
So, when you finally find the Ankylosaurus you want to tame, the first step is to prepare the food you should feed it to influence the taming process. Considering that Ankylosaurus is a herbivorous dinosaur, the best foods for it are fruits and plants, such as:
- Soybean
- Regular Kibble
- Fresh Wheat
- Dried Wheat
- Berries
- Barley
After collecting the necessary resources, you can start the taming process. In this case, the taming method is identical to most other dinosaurs, all you need to do is stun the target to make it unconscious. Given that Ankylosaurus is heavily armored, you may need several blows to the head, so prepare for the possibility that it may attack, but don’t overdo it to avoid killing it. - Crossbow
- Harpoon Launcher
- Long-neck Rifle
- Slingshot
Once the target is unconscious, approach it and open its inventory to put food inside. After a while, the food will be ingested, and the tame meter will increase. It’s worth noting that you may need to leave the dinosaur unconscious a few times if you haven’t fed it enough.
