If you thought Assassin’s Creed Shadows focused on ninja-like outfits only, that isn’t the case. While Ubisoft showed Naoe only with her shinobi outfit, there is one way to obtain the iconic Assassin Robes in the game. To do so, you’ll have to progress through the story for a bit, do some Naoe-specific missions, and after all of that, the Assassin Apprentice Gear of AC Shadows will be yours to grab. Here’s the full breakdown of how to obtain it.
How To Find the Apprentice Assassin Gear in AC Shadows
As we mentioned above, this armor set is tied to the main story, but most importantly, to Naoe’s personal story. If you didn’t know, each character has their own set of personal missions that provide more lore details about them. After you reach a certain point in the story, Naoe will start investigating the Assassin’s Brotherhood, which is where you’ll obtain this armor.
To get started, you need to complete the Mibuno Showdown quest, which will let you recruit Yasuke as a playable character. After that, you’ll get a quest for Naoe, where a certain historical figure will speak with her and tell her about a secret room in Old Kofun. You can find this location east of Sakai.
Once you enter Old Kofun, go past the first room and in the second room, enter through the gap on the wall on your right.

You don’t need to explore the place completely, but if you haven’t, go through the crawling space on the left wall. You can find a lot of loot and a legendary trinket at the end.
After entering the gap, keep walking until you reach a wall with the iconic Assassin’s Brotherhood symbol. You’ll get a quick cutscene and another secret room will open.
Enter the room and gather the clues required for the mission, and then head to the right where you’ll find the Apprentice Assassin Gear along with its hood, which will probably be your first Epic-quality set in AC Shadows.

Armor Set Perks

Both pieces are tailored to a stealth-oriented build, while also enhancing Naoe’s combat capabilities. The headgear lets Naoe remove an extra health segment on any assassination, unless you’re playing with guaranteed assassinations, that is. The armor lets Naoe restore 1% of her HP with every hit she lands, which is great whenever she’s surrounded by enemies.
Even if there are other legendary armor sets out there, we feel this one is great for the early-game hours, and can even carry you through the endgame, assuming you upgrade it constantly. If you don’t like the perks, but you dig the looks, remember that you can apply its visual style to other armor pieces.
