As part of the Alchemical Ascension event, the Traveler will be presented with a series of four Alchemy Exams tailored to test their knowledge and potion-making expertise. But as completing the tests will net you a large sum of funds, as well as unlock new Operation Bonuses, it’s a given that they won’t be a walk in the park. To help with that, here’s how to complete All Alchemy Exams in Genshin Impact Alchemical Ascension with the Sublime Mastery grade.

How to Pass the Beginner Alchemy Exam in Alchemical Ascension
For the introductory Alchemy Exam, Sucrose will task you with making an Intermediate or higher potion of Construction which must ideally have a level of at least +5, 1 characteristic, and only use 3 different types of ingredients.
I was able to pass the Beginner Alchemy Exam while completing all of its secondary objectives by using five Special Sweet Flowers, one Special Qingxin, and one Special Jueyun Chili. As you can see below, once you place all the ingredients in the grid, you will have an Intermediate Constitution Potion with the Strengthening characteristic.
How to Pass the Intermediate Alchemy Exam in Genshin Impact Alchemical Ascension
When compared to the one above, the Intermediate exam will up the difficulty level exponentially by tasking you with creating a Strength & Dexterity Potion with both values on Intermediate. To add a little more to that, the potion must also not use more than 10 ingredients, have a level of at least +8, and possess two characteristics for you to get all rewards.
But don’t let that scare you, as you can pass the exam while checking all of the boxes by using four Special Jueyun Chilis, three Special Dandelions, one Special Mushroom, and one Special Horsetail. Once you are done placing the ingredients, just press Complete Concocting to get a Relaxing/Warm Strength & Dexterity potion meeting all of the requirements.
As you might have noticed in the image above, you will need to have expended your cauldron multiple times to complete the challenge. You can do that by talking to Freda and then purchasing the Improved Alchemy Cauldron upgrades when available. You can unlock the upgrades by reaching Alchemy levels 3, 6, 9, and 12.
How to Pass the Advanced Alchemy Exam in Genshin Impact Alchemical Ascension
To get the highest grade in the Advanced Exam, Sucrose will task you with making an Advanced or higher +8 Wisdom potion. The potion must also have the Fragrant characteristic and be made by using 5+ different ingredients.
As you can see in the image below, you will be able to make the potion and complete all objectives by using two Special Windwheel Asters, two Special Sumeru Roses, four Special Lumidouce Bells, one Special Mushroom, and one Special Berry.
How to Pass the Expert Alchemy Exam in Genshin Impact Alchemical Ascension
Without a shadow of a doubt the most headache-inducing of all tests, you will need to make an Expert Charisma potion of level +8 with both the Perception and Steadying characteristics, as well as reach a Tuning Rate of at least 280% to get the Sublime Mastery grade on the Expert Alchemy Exam.
To complete the exam with flying colors in Genshin Impact Alchemical Ascension, simply use two Special Marcottes for Charisma, two Special Mist Flowers for Steadying, and nine Special Mints for Perception. Once all ingredients are placed, you will have something similar to the following and will be able to make an +10 Expert Strength & Charisma Potion.
Differently from all of the previous exams, you will need to have the above ingredients on at least level 2 (as reaching the level will massively increase their effectiveness) to complete the exam. So don’t be like me and miss out on getting full marks for forgetting to upgrade them. You can quickly level up your ingredients before attempting the test by heading to the workstation by your crops and then analyzing your ingredients.
