The Crystal Ball can give you some pretty powerful attributes, as well as make your house look amazing. Terraria: How to Get a Crystal Ball

The only way that you can obtain a Crystal Ball is by purchasing it from the Wizard NPC. The Crystal Ball isn’t an item that you can just find in the world or craft. However, there are a couple of things you’ll have to do before the Wizard NPC can move into your base.

  1. Dig your way down to the bottom of the map, where the Wall of Flesh can be found
  2. Defeat the Wall of Flesh
  3. Enter Terraria’s Hardmode

Now, if you’d like to have the Wizard NPC move in, you should keep in mind that he can only spawn at the level underground where Caverns can spawn, or below that. When you first locate him, the Wizard NPC will be named “Bound Wizard” and you will have to give him some assistance in getting free of his bounds. Once you’ve freed him and talked to him, he will spawn back up in your base above ground and you can purchase the Crystal Ball from him for 10 Gold.

Once you’ve purchased the Crystal Ball, it can actually give off a couple of cool effects. To activate it, all you have to do is place it down on a surface in your base. Anytime you interact with it, it’ll give you the Clairvoyance Buff, which will grant you an additional 20 Mana and 5% damage, 2% critical strike chance, and a 2% reduction to mana consumption when you cast spells. This buff will last until you die, and can be an incredible buff to use as a magic wielded. The Crystal Ball can actually act as a crafting table for magical items as well, which can be very helpful.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
