Pokemon Scarlet and Violet now have connectivity with Pokemon GO, the ever-popular mobile social game version of the digital monster-catching series. Mobile Trainers who own a Switch can now obtain additional content from the Paldea region. Here’s how you can get a Golden Lure Module and catch a Paldean Pokemon in Pokemon GO.

First, you will need to connect your Pokemon GO account with your Pokemon Scarlet or Violet game save and send Postcards through the Mystery Gift menu. You can read all the details about connecting accounts and Postcards in our How to Get and Use the Coin Bag guide.

Then, send your first Postcard to automatically receive the Coin Bag item in your inventory. Postcards you send will remain in the Postcard Book, but you can only send once each day and it will reset at midnight. Every time you use the Coin Bag, Gimmighouls will spawn around you for 30 minutes. However, you can only do this once per day since the Coin Bag is usable once you’ve sent a Postcard.

As mentioned before, the first time you sent one you’ll acquire the Bag. But the second and subsequent times you send a Postcard from Pokemon GO you’ll receive Golden Lure Modules instead — especially if you sent it multiple times. Like other Lures, you can utilize a Golden Lure Module on a PokeStop to turn it gold and lure a bunch of Gimmighouls around the area.

Gimmighoul cannot evolve through Candies, instead, it will only evolve into Gholdengo once you owned 999 Gimmighoul Coins. Pokemon Scarlet or Violet players might’ve already known that.

To acquire Gimmighoul Coins in Pokemon GO, you’ll have to either catch Gimmighouls or spin Golden PokeStops that have been given a Golden Lure Module. Having a Golden Lure Module in your inventory and sending a Postcard will also give you a Coin. After you’ve collected 999 of them, simply open the Gimmighoul summary screen and evolve it into Gholdengo.

Also, take note that Niantic is currently running a promotion on Twitter which gives you a download code for an in-game bonus when you retweeted the post above with the #GOGimmighoul hashtag. There are also free Gimmighoul Coins that you can redeem from the in-game store.
