Although Melinoe has to face Chronos alone in Hades 2, she can get some help from her friends from their Keepsakes. These items are not just simple trinkets because they are imbued with magical power from their owners. You can get new Keepsake by befriending various NPCs. In the Hades 2 Early Access version, there are 27 Keepsakes that you can obtain, and each item offers a unique effect, so I highly recommend unlocking them all.

You can get Keepsakes in Hades 2 by gifting Ambrosia to all friendly NPCs for the first time. I suggest saving your Ambrosia to establish new connections before you try to get close to one character. Since there are 27 Keepsakes, that means you need 27 Ambrosia to unlock them all.

You can get Ambrosia for free by exploring the underworld. However, you can also purchase this rare item from the Wretched Broker after using the Kinship Fortune incantation. This spell requires 60 Bones, and you can purchase one Ambrosia from the Wretched Broker for 30 Bones.

How To Upgrade

After you unlock a Keepsake, you can level up its effect to rank 3 in Hades 2. Luckily, you don’t have to gather any materials to upgrade them and only need to wear one to battle.

  • Rank 1 – Automatically unlocked.
  • Rank 2 – Win 25 encounters.
  • Rank 3 – Win 50 encounters.

So, you must win 75 fights in order to upgrade one Keepsake’s effect fully. This will take quite a while, and I don’t believe there’s a way to shorten it.
