To stay alive in Monster Hunter: World you’ll need good armor, and to get that you’ll need Armor Spheres. Like pretty much everything else in the game, you can get Armor Spheres by killing monsters. That said, Capcom packed the game with missions to take on and creatures to hunt, making it difficult to know which ones to farm for a specific resource. With so many armor sets to upgrade, efficient farming is essential to get your hands on the good stuff without wasting time. Here’s how to get Armor Spheres in MHW.

The best way to get Armor Spheres in MHW is to farm Brand New Brute. This six-star Event Quest rewards the player with 36,000 Zenny, as well as True Armor Spheres, and Brute Tigrex Tickets, used for crafting various layered armor sets.

As you’ve probably already guessed, this Event Quest tasks you with hunting down a Brute Tigrex. Three kinds of Armor Sphere drop during this quest: True Armor Sphere, Heavy Armor Sphere, and King Armor Sphere. The number and variety of these materials make Brand New Brute the go-to Armor Sphere farming location in MHW.

Brand New Brute is an Arena fight in which you face off against a single Brute Tigrex. If you faint three times or take longer than 50 minutes to complete the mission, the mission will fail. You can tackle this mission solo or with friends. The strength of the Brute Tigrex scales with the addition of other players, but it’s still easier to take down with friends, making co-op a good option. Here are the stats for the Armor Spheres you can receive:

If your Palico has Plunderblade, they can steal Armor Spheres directly from the Brute Tigrex. It’s therefore a good idea to get your hands on this Palico Gadget before taking on this Event Quest. When you carve the Brute Tigrex, all the materials you receive will be Armor Spheres. Note that while this makes Brand New Brute great for farming Armor Spheres in MHW, it’s terrible for getting Brute Tigrex parts. By taking on quests like this one whenever you get the chance, you’ll have your armor upgraded in no time.

Monster Hunter: World is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
