Destiny 2 20th season, Season of Defiance, brings with it the Defiant Battleground as its seasonal Activity. This Activity isn’t a walk in the park, and you will need the help of the Awoken Favors buff to push through this challenge. You might also need to acquire Awoken Favors in order to clear the “We Stand Unbroken” questline. In case you need to know what is Awoken Favors and how to get them, this guide will tell you everything you need to know about Awoken Favors in Destiny 2.
Awoken Favors, Explained
Awoken Favors are buffs that Guardians can obtain during any Defiant Battleground Seasonal Activity. Once a specific requirement for the buffs has been achieved, an enemy will drop the Favor. Do remember that dropped Favors will disappear in 30 seconds.
Interestingly, a Favor does not just buff the player that acquired it, but to their whole Fireteam as well. With that in mind, you and your friends will want to trigger Awoken Favors as often as possible, although the drop rate isn’t particularly high.

Destiny 2: Season Of Defiance – How to Get Awoken Favors
Before you can get Awoken Favors buffs though, you will need to pick one Favor Attunement from the War Table in the H.E.L.M. Interact with the War Table, pick the Upgrades menu, and look for the Favors in the top row of the menu. Picking a Favor Attunements dictates which buff you will get and each also has a different method to trigger it.
Here is the list of all three Favor Attunements:
- Exemplar of Justice: Final Blow from an Ability have a chance to recharge Melee Ability.
- Exemplar of Grace: Final Blow from a Special Ammo Weapon has a chance to improve mobility.
- Exemplar of Zeal: Final Blow from a Heavy Ammo has a chance to improve Grenade Ability recharge.
You also need one War Table Upgrade to be able to unlock each Exemplar. The Upgrade can be obtained by finishing Defiant Battleground Activities or completing the “We Stand Unbroken” questlines.
Thankfully, you can increase the drop rate for Awoken Favors by wearing the full Unyielding Favor armor set, which has the Queen’s Favor Perk. This perk will reduce the number of Final Blows needed to trigger an Awoken Favor drop. As you can expect, each piece of armor you are wearing will also increase the bonus. You can get Unyielding Armor pieces from these Activities:
- Completing Season of Defiance Seasonal Activities.
- Rewards from the War Table.
- Rewards from Season Rank.
- Obtained from random Legendary Engram drops.
