Do you hate mining ore in Once Human? Say no more because the Deviants yearn for the mines, and one such Deviation, called Digby Boy will do all the mining work near your base. This way, you don’t have to do all the manual labor. However, you might miss Digby Boy in Once Human since he’s part of a side quest. Here’s how to get Digby Boy in Once Human and how to finish the quest associated with him.

How to Start Digby Boy Side Quest

Follow these instructions to start the Digby Boy side quest. It has certain prerequisites, mind you.

  1. Progress the main quest until it tasks you with going to Deadsville and activating the Teleporter.
  2. Once you’ve finished the main quest stage in Deadsville (and have been rewarded the motorcycle), look for a shady man named Lowe. He’s sitting at one of the tables near the house in Deadsville.
  3. Talk to Lowe about a Deviation; he will give you a side quest named Deviation Expert.
  4. Track Deviation Expert and follow the quest marker.

Digby Boy is on the top floor of a 3-story building in the quest marker, sitting on a low wall. Talk to the Deviation. He’ll ask for something. Follow these steps:

  1. Turns out Digby Boy needs 30 units of ore before you can capture him.
  2. The nearest would be Copper Ores all over the town.
  3. Collect at least 30 Copper Ore nearby.
  4. Go back to Digby Boy then give him the Copper Ore.
  5. Capture Digby Boy (it says 20 percent capture chance, but it won’t fail since a side quest).

After you’ve captured him, go back to Lowe and finish the quest to get the rewards. You now have a Digby Boy to help you gather ores in your base. However, you need a special structure to make use of Digby Boy.

To use Digby Boy, you need a Deviation container. Follow these steps to build one and use Digby Boy.

  1. Open the build menu, then open the building options.
  2. Under Facilities, select the Isolated Securement Unit (2nd in the selection) and build it. If you don’t have the materials for the structure, collect them first.
  3. Once you’ve built the container, select ‘Use Facility‘ on it and right-click to place Digby Boy inside.
  4. Wait for Digby Boy to fill up the ore storage in the container UI.
  5. Collect the ore periodically.

Once Digby Boy is inside, you don’t have to do anything. He will automatically dig and mine ore. Make sure to check on him periodically to see if the storage is full. The ore Digby Boy will gather depends on the area you’re in.
