To run a Farm in Stardew Valley, it’s not enough just to breed animals and grow crops. You also have to catch fish, which you will need not only for selling but also for crafting and cooking. For example, Eel dishes can increase your luck. In addition, this fish costs quite a lot of Gold. However, catching the Eel in Stardew Valley can be quite hard, especially if you don’t know its schedule.

Fishing in Stardew Valley may seem quite easy at first glance. However, each species spawns in different bodies of water at different times of the year. Some you won’t even be able to find unless the weather is right. And the Eel is just such a fish.

Eels are found in the sea in Stardew Valley. In other words, you can catch it by casting a fishing rod into the sea from the Beach or at your Beach Farm. However, this snake-like fish only spawns during Spring or Fall in rainy weather. Moreover, players can only catch Eel in Stardew Valley between 4 p.m. and 2 a.m., making fishing much more difficult. However, you can use Magic Bait to bypass all of these requirements.

If you don’t want to waste time waiting for suitable weather conditions, you can buy the Eel in Stardew Valley. From time to time, this fish appears among the products in the Traveling Cart. But be prepared to pay from 255 to 1,000 Gold for it.

How To Use Eel

The first and most obvious use of this fish is for sale. Depending on the quality of the Eel, you can get quite a lot of Gold:

  • Normal – 85 Gold
  • Silver – 106 Gold
  • Gold – 127 Gold
  • Iridium – 170 Gold

As a gift, the Eel is not a very good option since no one likes it, except for a few villagers who will have neutral reactions. But by using Eel for cooking in Stardew Valley, you can make several unique dishes:

  • Spicy Eel – Eel, Hot Pepper
  • Fried Eel – Eel, Oil
  • Sashimi – Eel
  • Maki Roll – Eel, Seaweed, Rice
  • Quality Fertilizer – Eel, Sap

Also, the Eel can be placed in a Fish Pond in which it will produce Brown Eel Roe. Later, the player can make Aged Roe from it and sell it for a good amount of Gold.
