Added in the Wastelanders update, the Gold Bullion is a type of unique currency in Fallout 76 that can only be traded with certain NPC vendors in Appalachia, West Virginia. These vendors include Mortimer, Samuel, Regs, and Minerva, selling high-end items, such as rare Plans and late-game Armor in Fallout 76. Therefore, if Vault Dwellers are looking to take their combat capabilities or general survivability to the next level, having Gold Bullion to spend is essential to gameplay progression. Keep in mind that this currency is moderately restricted, with caps regarding how much a player character can possess and how much they can earn on a weekly basis.

To get the Gold Bullion currency in Fallout 76, Vault Dwellers must first complete the Wastelanders main questline, after which this currency will become accessible to players. More specifically, in “Secrets Revealed,” the final story quest of Wastelanders, players learn about gold processing in Appalachia. Once the quest has been completed, participants with receive a decent amount of Gold Bullion.

One way that Fallout 76 players are able to earn Gold Bullion is by turning in Treasury Notes at Gold Press Machines. For those unfamiliar, Treasury Notes can also be earned by fulfilling the daily quests for factions like the Settlers or Raiders. These dailies include “Retirement Plan,” “The Importance of Communication,” “Vital Equipment,” and “Photo Opportunity.” Each note can be exchanged for 10 Gold Bullion. However, bear in mind that the daily cap for this exchange is 400 Gold Bullion.

Another way to get Gold Bullion is by purchasing the currency with Bottle Caps from Smiley at the Wayward. 1,000 Caps will net 50 Bullion, and this exchange can be conducted up to 300 Gold Bullion per week. Additionally, remember that the Gold Bullion currency has a limit of 10,000 per player character; thus, earning beyond this amount is ineffective. These restrictions are likely to keep players from exploiting the game or progressing too quickly by buying endgame Plans for their characters. Regardless, the best way for Vault Dwellers to make Gold Bullion in Fallout 76 would be to focus on completing the dailies for Settlers and Raiders. If players have any excess caps, they can use them to acquire several hundred more Bullion.
