Link may be a hero, but he isn’t above cutting a giant pig monster up for parts. Tears of the Kingdom is fortunately pretty cartoony, so it won’t get graphic. Why hunt Hinox in the first place? Like other Zelda enemies, these towering cyclops drop a variety of resources when defeated. Hinox Tooth, in particular, is a useful material for making elixirs. To get it, however, you’ll need to take the fight to Hyrule’s sleepiest warriors. Just make sure your dream adventure doesn’t turn into a nightmare. Here’s how to get Hinox Tooth in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Like other drop items, you’ll need to take down a specific enemy to get the Hinox Tooth. Though they’re far from the toughest foe in the game, they do pack plenty of health, and fights can get messy if you go into them unprepared. Fight without a plan, and the Hinox might collect Link’s head like a Zelda Amiibo. There are four foes you can fight for this particular resource in Tears of the Kingdom:
- Black Hinox
- Blue Hinox
- Hinox
- Stalnox
Though Hinox drop Hinox Teeth, they’re also a reliable source of other Hinox items, such as the Toenail, Guts, and Blue and Black Honox Horn. These cyclopean giants are easy to spot, and you can find them in Hyrule Ridge as well as West Necluda.
How to Defeat Hinox
Though they’re no Ganondorf, it’s advisable to gear up before taking on Hinox. We recommend a strong bow (such as Lynel) and a Stone Talus hammer. It’s common to catch a Hinox sleeping, so landing your first attack won’t be difficult. Take advantage of this to get in as much damage as possible before the beast retaliates. Strike with a powerful melee attack, then fall back and use your bow to stun the Hinox. That will give you time to inflict a final, fatal blow. Once you’ve defeated the one-eyed monster you can claim your grim reward (and get to buffing your gear).
