One would think gold is the prime currency of Unicorn Overlord, but it is actually Honors. When playing, you’ll realize most of the things you want to unlock and upgrade require Honors, and to get them, you’ll need to scour the war-torn landscapes of Cornia. Thankfully, this installment has no shortage of activities to do, and without realizing it, you’ll be amassing this currency in no time. So, grab your army, equip them with the best items, and prepare to liberate this nation from oppression.

As the game states, the easiest way to get Honors in Unicorn Overlord is by engaging in combat and doing optional objectives. More specifically, you must do any of the following:

  • Complete battle stages.
  • Make town deliveries.
  • Defeat enemies on the map.

When playing, we noticed the easiest way to get this currency was by doing optional battle stages. Since they are not part of the story, you might ignore them, but we advise against it. You should explore every portion of the map to unlock new stories for you to participate in. Achieving victory in any of them will reward you with Honors you can use for other things.

How To Use Honors

You can use Honors inside Forts. There are two main reasons to collect this currency: to unlock and expand units and to hire mercenaries. Both will be useful during your campaign, and if possible, we recommend focusing on making your armies bigger. The story will give you enough free characters, so make room in your units to place new soldiers instead.

If you’re struggling with battle or don’t want to do side stories, stick to making deliveries. Each town tasks you with bringing certain items, and you can find most of them on the map. Ultimately, the choice is yours, but having this currency around won’t hurt.
