The constant interference of The Dark Presence and horrors described in Return will confront you with terrible scenes. And therefore, having a weapon capable of neutralizing danger at a great distance can make your life a little easier. Although this is one of the most powerful ranged weapons in Alan Wake 2, you can easily miss the Hunting Rifle while progressing through the Saga storyline. It is hidden in the little room in the Wellness Center that you will visit during Return 5: Old Gods. Of course, Tor and Odin will tell you a lot about the plot, but you must use your ingenuity to get a new rifle.
Where To Find Hunting Rifle in Alan Wake 2
As we said earlier, to find the Hunting Rifle in Alan Wake 2, you must reach Return 5: Old Gods and visit the Wellness Center. Focus on the story and talk to Tor and Odin in the Nursing Home. It will give you some plot clues and encourage you to visit the Wellness Center.
After a few story scenes, you will find yourself in a locked building, while exploring it, you will find a Hunting Rifle in the closet of the Workshop room. The door is not locked, but it is missing a doorknob, and you must get it. This task includes several stages, so let’s do everything in order.
Turn Off the Wellness Center Security System
First of all, you will have to disable the Security System since the required item is behind the electric doors. The map on the wall will help you not get lost, but fortunately, the Security Room is next to the Workshop. Once you enter it, you must solve the puzzle and get a computer password using notes and a calendar.
The notes say that the date of initiating Blum into the Cult of the Tree will happen after the next New Moon. The calendar will help you find the desired date, which will be August 16, 2023. But since the initiation is the next day, the computer password is 170823. So log into the computer and unlock the electric doors.
Find Doorknob
The next step is to check the emails on the same computer. One of them contains a small encrypted clue that will indicate the location of the doorknob. If you don’t want to waste time, get up from the table and go out to the newly unlocked entrance in this room. Turn right and go straight to the exit past the reception desk. Then turn right and enter the Staff Lounge. Finally, enter the small illuminated office and take the doorknob from the box under the table.
Getting Hunting Rifle
All you have to do is return to the Workshop, insert the doorknob into the door, and enter. When you go to the closet, you can immediately pick up the Hunting Rifle, but it takes up a lot of space in inventory. The main advantage of this weapon is its firing range and massive damage, killing almost any enemy with one shot. On the other hand, it is a slow reload and a loud shot sound that kills any hopes for stealth passage. But the choice about whether to use this weapon or not is yours.
