One of the worst enemies in Pacific Drive is radiation, and the only way to ward it off is by getting Lead Platelets. Of course, this is easier said than done. Most road trips you do in the game are a race against the clock. Even if you find a resource you want, you have seconds to grab it before the storm hits. So, to make finding these elusive materials easier, we have a few tips on how to find them easily.

By now, you might’ve noticed that most early-game materials appear inside abandoned buildings. Whether it is a gas station, an ARDA research building, or a house, you can find most of what you need inside these places. However, the more you progress through the game, the more you’ll need to explore to find rare resources, and that’s the case for Lead Platetes in Pacific Drive. To find them, do the following:

  1. Select any biome on your route planner.
  2. Look for the lead shielding trait for the route.
  3. Pack everything you need for a road trip. If possible, bring two or more Scrappers.
    • If you have a resource radar, this will be much easier.
  4. Once inside the biome, stick to the wilderness. Lead Platelets spawn off the road, and you can find them in small field research stations. You can obtain them by using your Scrapper to break the panels of these stations.

How To Use Lead Platelets

The most important use for Lead Platelets in Pacific Drive is to craft anything lead-related. Items such as lead-plated doors, panels, and even some outfits offer protection against radiation. You might think having these car parts isn’t important, but wait until you reach the game’s final areas. You’ll grow a third eye before you can even start your car if you don’t have enough lead-plated parts.

If you don’t see the right biome spawning, we recommend doing a short run until all Junctions change. Remember that routes reset every time you return to your garage, so use this system to your advantage and start scavenging for these materials.
