Lithium is one of the most commonly used materials in Subnautica that is used for important crafting, but how do you get it? When you finally venture into the world of Subnautica and get past the early stages of the game, you’ll start to learn that you need more resources that you’re not quite sure how to obtain. One of these resources in Lithium, and it’s used in loads of different crafting recipes that you need to progress through the game farther. Where to Get Lithium in Subnautica
Lithium can be found in quite a few different biomes in the game; you just have to know what to look for.
- You can sometimes find Lithium by breaking Shale Outcrops
- Sometimes found on cave walls
- Sometimes found on the sea bed
- Can often be found in Jellyshroom Caves
- Though, the best place to find Lithium is the Mushroom Forest
How to Harvest Lithium in Subnautica
In order to collect Lithium, you need to have access to Prawn Suit Drill Arms. In order to get these, you’ll need to have access to the Moonpool and a Vehicle Upgrade Console. Once you’ve got a couple of Drill Arms, make your way over to Lifepod 13. Once you’re there, you can find a decent amount of Lithium deposits littering the sea bed around the Lifepod. There should be anywhere from 8 to 16 Lithium Clusters in the area that you can harvest and collect.

- Ultra High Capacity Tank – Allows for 225 seconds underwater
- Ultra Glide Fins – Great for swimming faster, avoiding enemies, and getting the most out of your oxygen tank
- Seamoth Storage upgrade – Great for moving materials and resources
- Seamoth Hull Reinforcement upgrade – Reduces damage taken by running into environmental structures
- Seamoth Torpedo upgrade – Great for fighting Leviathans
- Prawn Suit Drill Arm – Used for harvesting materials
- Prawn Suit Torpedo Arm – Used for fighting Leviathans
- Prawn Suit Grappling Arm – Used for exploration
- Prawn Suit Propulsion Cannon – Can be used for relocating structures
- Prawn Suit Jump Jet upgrade – Gives added mobility
- Prawn Suit Depth Module MKII – Used for exploring deep locations
- Cyclops Decoy Tube – Used for traveling in Leviathan-heavy areas
- Reinforcement – Used to keep base integrity high
- Plasteel Ingot – Used for crafting structures
