Meloetta, the fan-favorite dancer-slash-singer Mythical Pokemon from Generation V, appears in Generation IX thanks to The Indigo Disk DLC. In almost all of its previous appearances, this Pokemon could only be caught during special events. This time around, you can spot one in the wild. However, getting Meloetta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is very tricky without some first-hand knowledge. Like a bird during mating season, you need to attract Meloetta out of its hiding spot first.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Where Can You Get Meloetta?
To get Meloetta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, head to the Coastal Biome of The Indigo Disk DLC’s Terarium. Afterward, fly or fast-travel to the Coastal Outdoor Classroom and go to the east to the exact spot shown on the map above. Or you can head west if you start from the Coastal Rest Area.
Now, that you’ve arrived at the cliffs, look for some leaves that are blown by a light gust. Stand in the middle of the breeze’s circle. At this point, we suggest you capture or defeat any Pokemon you see around the area, or resetting the spawns using a Picnic. Unexpected random encounters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet could interrupt your attempt at catching Meloetta!
Once you’re in position, spin your right stick clockwise for at least 10 seconds. Then quickly press down on the D-pad to open your Camera. Change your Camera’s filter to Sepia by pressing Left on your D-pad five times. Wait for a few seconds until the music suddenly changes to Meloetta’s Relic Song, which is the sign that the Pokemon has come out of hiding!
Rotate the Camera to look around you and you should find the Normal/Psychic Mythical Pokemon. When it appears, Meloetta should spawn at around Level 70. You should use Bug or Dark-Type attacks to quickly weaken Meloetta when you’re trying to get it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk.
To recap, here are the steps you have to do to get Meloetta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk DLC:
- Go to the Coastal Biome.
- From Coastal Outdoor Classroom, head east. Or go west if you start from the Coastal Rest Area.
- Go to the middle of the tree groves and look for a patch of grass blown by the wind.
- Stand in the middle of it.
- Spin your right stick clockwise for 10 seconds at the minimum.
- Open your Camera and change the Filter to Sepia.
- Wait until the music changes and look around until you see Meloetta.
