Simple: The more Approval of people you have, the more immigrants come to live under your rule. Now you need to translate this phrase into gameplay in Manor Lords to get more families. With more people in your village, you get to build additional constructions, have an army to fight against enemies, and further expand your kingdom.
Get More Families in Manor Lords By Increasing Approval
You need to increase the Approval level of your village to get more families in Manor Lords. You can check your Approval by looking over on the top left side of the screen. If the level is above 60%, more people will notice your newborn kingdom.
Notice! If you don’t build new houses, new families will not arrive. Once you have enough Approval, start building homesteads to draw some attention.
To increase your Approval, there are three key elements to consider: The food variety, church level, and clothing market.

First things first, humans need food and fire to survive. Simply put, you’d need more than one type of food to draw immigrants’ attention. If your village provides more than just berries to eat, then why should people resist giving you a long-term visit?
Once you start the game, check the surroundings to find the hunting areas called the Wild Animals and the Berry Deposit with different icons. You can build a Hunting Camp near the Wild Animals area and a Forager Hut near the Berry Deposit to start with two good sources of food.
However, these two only provide food seasonally, so you may need to store some food for winter or look for other ways to survive. For example, you can have an Apiary by unlocking it in the Development tree to gain honey. But remember one important thing here: Building a Marketplace for people is necessary to gain Food Variety points.
Further, as you explore the game, you’ll come across new ways to gain even more food variety points by farming eggs, vegetables, and more. You’ll also gain more fuel by building a Firewood Cutter and deploying families to work on it.
Church Level
In Manor Lords, one of the main ways to get more families and people’s Approval is by ringing a church’s bell. This is where people gather to pray, and that is very important for the newcomers. You can get a church by spending 20 planks, 5 timbers, and 10 stones and later increase its level by spending clays.
Not to worry about gaining the clay though; you’ll easily farm these from certain locations marked on your map as Clay Deposit. Upgrading your church has even more benefits than just gaining Approval, allowing you to get side taxes from people without even decreasing their satisfaction rates.
Clothing Market Supply
Having at least one of the three needed materials for cutting cloth is a necessity in Manor Lords if you want to get more families and people. You can produce Leather, Linen, and Yarn. And even if you only make one of them in high quantity, you’re good to go at the start.
- Leather: If you have a Hunting Camp, you can produce this clothing material by signing a family on a Tannery to turn hides into leather.
- Yarn: You can produce yarn in Manor Lords by creating a Pasture, having a Livestock Trading Post near it, and a Sheep Farm to import the lambs. Then, build a Weaver Workshop to turn wool into yarn.
- Linen: You can produce linen by having your Weaver’s Workshop near one of your farming fields.
Manor Lords is currently available to play on PC via Steam and Game Pass PC.
