Starting Friday, August 11, Pokemon Go is featuring the Pokemon World Championships of 2023, with GO Battle League as a highlight of the event. Lasting until Tuesday, August 15, Trainers have plenty of content to participate in, particularly catching a new pocket monster debut — Passimian! This Teamwork Pokemon’s most recent appearance was in Scarlet and Violet‘s region of Paldea. Now, Pokemon Go Trainers across the globe can also have the opportunity to catch the fruit-wielding, lemur-looking Passimian.

There are two ways you can catch Passimian in Pokemon Go during the 2023 Pokemon World Championships celebration:

  • Three-Star Raids
  • Field Research Task Encounters

Naturally, if you prefer not to deal with RNG via clearing Field Research Tasks, we recommend participating in Three-Star Raids. The reason is that a list of other Pokemon are in the task reward encounter pool as well, such as Wimpod, Magikarp, and Galarian Zigzagoon. Still, we aren’t saying you should completely disregard Field Research during the event, as it’s the perfect opportunity to get the World Championships 2023 Pikachu. This event-exclusive skin of Pikachu can also be Shiny!

Can Passimian Be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

If you’re curious if the 2023 Pokemon World Championships’ Teamwork Pokemon debut can be Shiny, the answer is, unfortunately, no. Shiny Passimian in Pokemon Go does not currently exist in this August 2023 event. This is indicated by its lack of “shiny particles” on its icon within Niantic’s official news post about the championships. Nevertheless, stocking up on Catch Candy for this rare Pokemon is still a good idea, as you never know when Passimian will make a return.

Is There a Passimian Evolution?

Like previous Pokemon titles, Passimian does not evolve in Pokemon Go. Of course, Niantic might change this down the line, but Trainers can only get the pocket monster’s normal form for now. We’ll be sure to update this guide if this information changes in the future.

What Is Passimian Weak Against?

For those curious about what type Passimian is in regard to its element, the Teamwork Pokemon is a Fighting-type monster. As a result, Passimian is weak against Flying-, Psychic-, and Fairy-type Moves. Conversely, avoid using Pokemon with Rock-, Bug-, or Dark-type Movesets against this lemur-esque opponent in Three-Star Raids. We recommend using strong Fairy-type picks for the Raid, such as Gardevoir, Togekiss, or Sylveon. Mewtwo, Alakazam, or Espeon are solid Psychic-type picks as well.
