How To Get Puncturing Hail in Lords of the Fallen

Lords of the Fallen puts the powers of Orius, Adyr, and Umbral in players’ hands, and the Season of Revelry event added even more of these spells, including Puncturing Hail. In this case, it’s an Umbral spell, and a pretty exciting one. This power allows you to pelt your foes with deadly icicles, which is useful as well as pretty funny. Whether you’re trying to put together your next great Umbral build or you’re just a completionist who wants every power in this gigantic Soulslike, this spell is an excellent find. Here’s how to get Puncturing Hail in Lords of the Fallen.

How To Get the Puncturing Hail Spell in Season of Revelry

The Puncturing Hail spell summons three icicles that pelt enemies, dealing damage and inflicting Frostbite buildup. Whether you’re using a dedicated Frostbite build or a more general Umbral build, Puncturing Hail is easy and effective. As an Umbral spell, you’ll need 18 Radiance and 18 Inferno to use it. Puncturing Hail also requires 35 Mana to cast. Here are the steps to follow to get this spell:

  • Beginning your journey from the Vestige of Svornil, turn around and head to the gate on the opposite side of the courtyard
  • Pass through the gate and proceed a short distance down the icy path
  • Kill the Griefbound (the enemy capable of summoning ice spikes to attack you)
  • Optionally, kill the other enemies in the area if it makes the Griefbound fight easier for you
  • If the Griefbound didn’t drop Puncturing Hail, return to the Vestige of Snorvil to rest and reset the enemies, repeating as necessary

When casting, Puncturing Hail summons three icicles that lock onto your enemy and shoot them after a moment’s delay. You can use this brief delay to your advantage by timing a follow-up attack to land at the same times as the icicles but from another direction. This isn’t necessary for PvE but is great for PvP. Using Puncturing Hail in this way allows you to effectively zone enemies or create a bit of breathing room for yourself while you use your Sanguinarix. For its general utility and cool aesthetic, Puncturing Hail is a great Umbral build addition.

Lords of the Fallen is available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
