Pulling enemy aggro in Terraria can often put you in a difficult situation and lead to your death. But with the Putrid Scent accessory, you can avoid this situation entirely. Wearing this accessory reduces monsters’ aggro against you by 400. Moreover, it increases your damage and critical strike chance by 5%. This guide will show you how to summon a Corrupt Mimic in Terraria using the Key of Night, which you need to get Putrid Scent.

In Terraria, you need to kill a Corrupt Mimic to get Putrid Scent. This key item drops from Corrupt Mimics with a 20% drop rate. Corrupt Mimics in the game spawn in Underground Corruption, or you can summon them using the Key of Night.

Here are all the steps you should follow to summon Corrupt Mimic:

  1. To spawn a Corrupt Mimic with the Key of Night, you will need a chest and a Key of Night.
  2. Then you need to go to the Terraria Corrupt biome.
  3. Place the chest anywhere in the Corrupt world, put the Key of Night inside, and close the chest.
  4. After closing, the chest will suddenly turn into a Corrupt Mimic.

By constantly summoning Corrupt Mimic this way, you can eventually get Putrid Scent in Terraria.

How to Get Key of Night in Terraria

To craft Key of Night, you need the Soul of Night (15) and a Work Bench. You can collect Soul of Nights by killing monsters in caves with Underground Corruption or Underground Crimson.

It can also be obtained from some crates you catch while fishing in Terraria. The Defiled Crate and Hematic Crate provide 2 to 5 Soul of Night with a 50% drop chance. That is how you craft Key of Night to get Putrid Scent in Terraria.
