Pokemon games since Gold and Silver feature what is called a “Shiny version” of them, a specific Pokemon that has a different coloration than usual. As you can expect, these Shinies are much rarer than standard Pokemon, not to mention that sometimes they can look much more striking or cooler than their “vanilla” counterpart. This Pokemon GO guide will tell you how you can catch the Shiny version of Ho-Oh, the Legendary Fire/Flying Pokemon.

Pokemon GO Season 10 – How to Get Shiny Ho-Oh

How to Get Shiny Ho-Oh in Pokemon GO

During the Pokemon GO Season 10: Rising Heroes, which runs from March 1 until June 1, 2023, Ho-Oh will be available as a Raid Battle Boss on March 8 to 21. The Legendary Pokemon is also featured in Raid Hours every Wednesday, 06:00 PM to 07:00 PM local time, on March 8 and March 15. That means you have around two weeks to try catching a Shiny Ho-Oh. Don’t forget to check out our How to Beat Ho-Oh guide and more details on Season 10 Raid Bosses schedule if you need help!

Keep in mind that Pokemon obtained through Special or Timed Research will have an increased rate to spawn as a Shiny. On the other hand, you can only get a Research Pokemon once; meanwhile, you can try catching Pokemon from Raids over and over again. Completing a Raid will give you around 14 Raid Balls and an encounter with the Raid Boss. Do note that Legendary Raid encounters have a 1:30 chance of a Shiny spawn, compared to the 1:50 chance of standard encounters.

Previously, before Pokemon GO‘s 10th season, Ho-Oh was available to catch during:
