World of Warcraft Classic‘s Season of Discovery has added a ton of surprises to find. As the game launches in phases, players always have something new to look forward to when a new patch drops. The community has been hard at work discovering the secrets of WoW SoD Phase Two, and one item has piqued the interest of many fans. This Ancestral Sword is a new Scarlet Monastery drop players have noticed, and its role in the game is a mystery. Let’s discuss how to get the Ancestral Sword in WoW SoD.
Where To Find the Ancestral Sword in WoW SoD
Obtaining the Ancestral Sword in WoW SoD involves a bit of travel time mixed with some luck. If you head to Tirisfal Glades to the north in the Eastern Kingdoms, you will find the iconic Scarlet Monastery location. This outdoor area is in the northwest section of Tirisfal Glades.
Once outside the Scarlet Monastery, do not enter any of the dungeons inside the temple. Instead, you must defeat enemies located here. Any of the Scarlet mobs outside of the dungeon have a chance to drop the Ancestral Sword in WoW SoD. Its drop rate is low, but a bit of grinding should end with success.
Furthermore, if you want to farm the item while leveling, you can go into any of the Scarlet Monastery dungeons and kill mobs in a group. These also have a chance to drop the weapon. The Ancestral Sword is a two-handed sword that requires level 26 to equip. It has a flavor text that reads:
“Passed down by a noble Lordaeron family. Once thought to be lost in the swamps around Kyross along with the last warrior to wield it.”
What To Do With the Sword in WoW SoD
Currently, players have not discovered what the Ancestral Sword is used for in Season of Discovery. There are discussions that it might just be a clue to lead players in the acquisition of the new Priest rune that grants the Pain Suppression spell. This is because the flavor text of several new weapon drops points toward the echos needed to unlock the rune.
