This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Despite the many story quests in FFXIV, everyday activities like home improvement and character appearance are no less important. There are entire communities dedicated to a specific theme or hunt people who want to own hundreds of mounts available in the game, while for others, a stylish hairstyle is enough. Added to the world of FFXIV during Patch 6.51, Bold and the Braid is a unique hairstyle available for purchase after completing the new Aloalo Island Dungeons. For some, it’s a long way to go, but we have some alternative methods for you.

FFXIV: Where To Buy Bold and the Braid Hairstyle

First of all, it’s worth noting that you can get the Bold and the Braid Hairstyle in FFXIV in two ways:

  • First, you can buy it for six Aloalo Potsherds by completing Aloalo Island Dungeons.
  • Alternatively, you can trade with other players.

If you prefer the long and thorny path, you must unlock and visit the Aloalo Island Variant/ Criterion Dungeons. By completing these dungeons, you can earn Aloalo Potsherds and buy the coveted hairstyle. You only need to find the Trisassant NPC in Old Sharlayan and at the coordinates (X: 12.0, Y: 13.3). Look at his item list and buy this or any other item with the new currency.

To start a new challenge, you need to go to Old Sharlayan and talk to Shallow Moor at coordinates (X: 12.0, Y: 13.4). This conversation will lead to you gaining access to the Stranger from Paradise quest. And once you finish it, you can visit The Aloalo Island Variant Dungeon. Please note that you will not be able to accept this quest until you talk to Osmon in the same area (X:11.9 Y:13.3).

However, going into dangerous dungeons just for the sake of hairstyle is not the best solution. So you should know about an easier way. Since the Bold and the Braid hairstyle applies to any character regardless of gender or race, you can find it on the Market Board. Many players who are hunting for more valuable Aloalo Island rewards can purchase several hairstyles to earn extra money on the sale. The price is unlikely high, so check the lists of items offered.

To sum it up, here’s how you can get Bold and the Braid Hairstyle in FFXIV:

  1. First Way – Aloalo Potsherds

Visit the Trisassant NPC in Old Sharlayan at (X:12.0, Y:13.3) and buy the hairstyle for 6 Aloalo Potsherds.

  2. Second Way – Gil

Visit the Market Board and buy the item from players.
