Destiny 2 Season 22, Season of the Witch, adds the new and powerful Exotic Grenade Launcher, Ex Diris. This Arc-based weaponry is armed with pretty fun Perks, including moth creation and enraging mechanics. Obtaining it is also pretty easy, making this weapon worth it to be added to your collection. Now let’s see how you can get Ex Diris as well as its Catalyst in Destiny 2 Season 22.

Ex Diris is obtained from Destiny 2: Season of the Witch Season Pass rewards. Depending on whether you are playing free-to-play or have bought the game, it is unlocked at different Rank:

  • Paid Season Pass: Rank 1
  • Free Season Pass: Rank 35

The Ex Diris comes with three unique Perks. First, its Nucleosynthetic Magazine lets it draw ammo from reserves so you don’t have to reload. With the Loyal Moths, final blows will create a moth that seeks out targets and explode. Lastly, the Corrupted Nucleosynthetic Trait will make the weapon enraged when dealing or taking sustained damage, which increases the fire rate.

Meanwhile, unlocking the Ex Diris Catalyst will improve the enrage mechanics even further. With the Catalyst, the weapon will enrage faster when you’re Amplified. Killing enemies using the Ex Diris will also make you Amplified. According to the description, this means the weapon will only work well with Arc-based Subclasses. Continue reading below to learn how to unlock and obtain Ex Diris Catalyst in Destiny 2.

To be able to get the Catalyst for Ex Diris, you need to complete the “Grenade Logic” quest. There are two steps needed to clear the quest:

Grenade Logic Step 1:

  • Talk to Banshee-44 in the Tower to unlock the quest.
  • Get 20 multi-kills
  • Get 25 kills without dying

Grenade Logic Step 2:

  • Generate 200 calibration data
    • This can be done by running various Activities including Crucible, Vanguard playlist, Gambit, and Seasonal playlist.
    • Additional progress can be obtained from defeating Guardians and higher-level Activities, including Nightfalls.
  • Defeat 450 enemies

Go back to the Tower and speak to Banshee-44 again to collect the Catalyst. However, to fully unlock the Ex Diris Catalyst in Destiny 2, you need to get 400 kills with the weapon. It’s going to be another tough grind, thankfully completing Season Pass should give you additional help. With paid Season Pass, at Rank 11 and Rank 22, you can get the Alpha and Omega Catalyst Booster, which speeds up the Catalyst progress.
