Majora’s Mask isn’t just one of the creepiest (and most innovative) Zelda games; it’s also home to one of the franchise’s greatest weapons. Young Link, haunted by an apocalyptic moon, isn’t the ideal warrior to wield it, however. Thankfully, the Fierce Deity Sword got a second life in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. To get it you’ll have to outsmart two other treasure hunters to retrieve the “keys” left by Misko the Great Bandit. It’s a journey that will take you all over Hyrule, but in the end, you’ll have a weapon worth defeating Ganondorf with.

To get the Fierce Deity Sword, you will need to find where it’s being held. To do this, travel to Foothill Stable in the Eldin region. Just north of the Stable, you’ll find Kisiona Shrine. Be sure to unlock the shrine for convenience later. Continue north from the shrine following the nearby smoke plume, and you’ll find two treasure hunters, Domidak and Prissen, outside Cephla Lake Cave. Interact with them, and they’ll explain that there’s treasure in the cave, but they’re unable to find which chest the treasure is in. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Instead of searching the cave, approach the dog at the treasure hunters’ camp
  2. Give the dog food
  3. Follow the dog to the cave and open the chest it lies down in front of

You’ll get the Ember Trousers, which boost your attack power in hot weather. The treasure hunters will rush in to congratulate you, but we’re not done here yet. After they leave, Domidak and Prissen will leave a letter in a bottle. Read the letter, and you’ll find three clues Misko left to the location of the Fierce Deity Armor. That’s worth more than any Zelda Amiibo.

You’ll need to travel to Akkala Citadel, Skull Lake, and an Ancient Tree Stump in Hyrule Field to get all three pieces of armor. Once you’ve found the Fierce Deity Armor, Mask, and Boots, equip the entire set and return to Cephla Lake Cave. Re-enter the cave, and the stone door on the left side will open. Go through into the new room, and you’ll find a note from Misko congratulating you on finding this place. “The Fierce Deity Sword is yours to take,” the note says. “You’ve earned it.”

Open the chest on the dais to receive the Fierce Deity Sword, an awesome-looking two-handed weapon with 38 Attack Power. The sword’s description says it was once wielded by a hero from a world “in which the moon threatened to fall,” and it “slashes wildly as if possessed by a Fierce Deity.” Congratulations on finding the Fierce Deity Sword! Now get out there and show Hyrule what a divine warrior looks like.
