Made for those looking to get power, even at the cost of their own health, Seppuku is seen by many Elden Ring players as a game-changing Ash of War, especially when paired with either the Uchigatana or the Nagakiba in Arcane/Dexterity builds. But unfortunately given its potential, the Ash of War will only become available after you complete a large portion of the game. Here’s where to find and how to get Seppuku in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring Seppuku Location and How to Get
You can get the Seppuku Ash of War in Elden Ring by heading to the frozen lake located east of the Mountaintop of the Giants’ Freezing Lake Site of Grace and then killing the invisible Teardrop Scarab found in the spot marked in the image below. If you are visiting the area for the first time, the fog covering it will only vanish after you defeat its boss, Borealis, the Freezing Fog.
Once in the marked area, you will be able to spot the invisible scarab by their glowing trail. To easily kill the scarab and get the Seppuku Ash of War, place yourself in their route and perform an attack at the moment the illuminated trail enters your reach. To increase your chances of hitting your target, I recommend that you use either fast weapons or those with large hitboxes like the Bloodhound’s Fang.
How to Duplicate the Seppuku Ash of War
You can duplicate Seppuku —as well as any other Ash of War you wish to— by getting one Lost Ashes of War and then talking to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold. After talking to Hewg, you will be able to complete the process and duplicate the Ash of War by doing the following:
- Select Ash of War Duplication.
- Select an Ash of War (in this case Ash of War: Seppuku).
- Select Yes to duplicate the Ash of War at the cost of one Lost Ashes of War.
How Much Blood Loss Does Seppuku Add?
Seppuku adds a base amount of 30 Blood Lost and 30 Physical Attack to your weapon of choice. How effective the boost will be, however, will be directly dependent on your Arcane total and on the Arcane scaling of the affected weapon.
You will need to expend 4 FP to use the skill. Seppuku will also consume around 15% HP and apply Blood Loss to you after each use. Its effect will last 60 seconds.
Elden Ring is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
