Thestral Mount in Hogwarts Legacy

Thestrals made their film debut in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Since then, this spectral horse has become extremely popular. Thestrals are unique in that they can fly. This means that players can gallop and fly around the game environment.

You can unlock the Thestral mount by purchasing the Deluxe Edition or the Collector’s Edition, which includes in-game items such as Dark Arena.

Mount Hippogriff

The Hogwarts Legacy also features a hippogriff that flies around Hogwarts. This legendary creature originally appeared in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, where Buckbeak helped Harry and his friends.

The Onyx Hippogriff Mount is an alternative to the Thestral and is available when pre-ordering any edition of The Legacy of Hogwarts. If you want to purchase this one, make sure you do so before it goes on sale.

Broomstick

Another alternative to the Thestral Mount is the good ol’ Broomstick. Although not a living creature, the broomstick is perhaps the most iconic means of transportation in the Harry Potter universe. Almost all wizards and witches use this magical broom to fly; some especially like to play Quidditch.

Regardless of the mount you pick, all of them will let you fly around Hogwarts and beyond, so it’s up to you to pick the one you like the most. Here, we love the broomstick, but it’s never a bad idea to have a feathered friend around.
