Dig is a Physical Ground-type Move in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that is both defensive and offensive in its mechanics. More specifically, this Move causes its caster to become immune to damage from most attacks, excluding particular Moves like Earthquake or Fissure. After a turn has elapsed, the caster will then strike their target with 80 Power and 100 Accuracy. As a Ground-type attack, Dig is highly effective against opponents that are Fire-, Electric-, Poison-, Rock-, and Steel-type pocket monsters. There are plenty of Ground-type creatures that can learn Dig via leveling up, but if you want to teach others this Move, you will need its TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Finding the Dig TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
There are multiple locations where you can find the Dig TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but one of the earliest areas you can find the TM is a small elevated alcove east of Cascarrafa. To reach it, you can take a specific route from Medali.
You can start your search for the Dig TM in Scarlet and Violet by leaving the southeastern exit of Medali and going up the winding mountain trail. After reaching the upper ridge bordering The Great Crater’s cliffside:
- Follow the grassy pathway to the southwest.
- After arriving at the cliff wall at the back, turn right and make your way into an alcove with a single thin tree.
- Investigate the Poké Ball near its base to receive the Dig TM.
Crafting the Dig TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
If you want to craft the Dig TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you will need the following materials, including 5,000 LP:
- Diglett Dirt × 3
- Orthworm Tarnish × 3
- Greavard Wax × 3
An ideal spot to encounter Orthworm and Diglett would be the badlands of Area Three in the East Province, north of Levincia. As for Greavard, this Ghost-type doggie is primarily found in the northern regions of Paldea, such as Glaseado Mountain. Once you have gathered three of each of the required materials, you can visit a TM Machine to craft Dig for your compatible pocket monsters.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
